Sinéad Quirke Køngerskov

Sinéad Quirke Køngerskov is an academic and archaeologist turned Danish to English translator, editor and tutor. Her translations include Susanne Clod Pedersen’s Viking saga, Arnulf, Lone Vitus’ The Harrowing, Kristoffer Glavind Kjær’s Bodily Intelligence and Bringing History to Life’s D-Day: The Greatest Invasion of All Time. Originally from Ireland, Quirke Køngerskov now lives in Denmark. How did she get there? It’s an old story: a Viking ship sailed from Ireland to Denmark and took back a red-haired girl. Actually, about 60 people rowed and sailed in the world’s largest reconstructed Viking ship. Roughly 1000 nautical miles in seven weeks. Quirke Køngerskov is the SmokeLong Quarterly guest editor for Danish.
