Josh Neufeld and Sari Wilson

Josh Neufeld and Sari Wilson are the co-editors of Flashed: Sudden Stories in Comics and Prose (Pressgang, 2016). Neufeld is the author of the nonfiction graphic novel A.D.: New Orleans After the Deluge (Pantheon), and he is the illustrator of The Influencing Machine: Brooke Gladstone on the Media (W.W. Norton). He has been an Atlantic Center for the Arts Master Artist, a Knight-Wallace Fellow in Journalism, and a Xeric Award winner. Sari Wilson is the author of the the novel Girl Through Glass (Harper, 2016). Her fiction has been nominated for a Pushcart Prize and has appeared in literary journals such as SliceAgni, and The Oxford American. She has been a Wallace Stegner Fellow at Stanford, a Fine Arts Work Center Fellow, and has received a residency from The Corporation of Yaddo. The SmokeLong Grand Micro Contest

Deadline November 15th!

The SmokeLong Grand Micro Contest (The Mikey) is now an annual competition celebrating and compensating the best micro fiction and nonfiction online.

The grand prize winner of The Mikey is automatically nominated for Best Small Fictions and any other prize we deem appropriate. In addition, we will pay the grand prize winner $1000. Second place: $500. Third place $300. Finalists: $100. All finalists and placers will be published in the December ’25 issue of SmokeLong.

Previously published as well as previously unpublished work will be considered.
