May 30th! Elements of Flash

Join the editor-in-chief of SmokeLong for a new installment of Elements of Flash. Whether you’re new to flash or an experienced flash writer, this 90-minute workshop will inspire you to (re)consider how you approach the page. We’ll explore how the flash writer thinks, drafts, and edits. And we’ll generate multiple drafts. Bring your passions.

Date: May 30
Time: 9am NYC. Please check for your particular time zone.
Duration: around 90 minutes
Zoom link sent upon purchase. This is not an automated process, so please allow time for a human to respond (generally prompt, but we do sleep).

This workshop/webinar is included in SmokeLong Fitness and also a bonus event for A SmokeLong Summer 26. If you book A SmokeLong Summer 26, you’ll also receive an invitation to this event at no extra charge.

Christopher Allen is the owner and editor-in-chief of SmokeLong Quarterly and the co-creator of the celebrated workshop community SmokeLong Fitness. A SmokeLong Summer 26!

A SmokeLong Summer 26 is closer than you think. This year we’re starting early and staying late. The summer just got longer.

As always, at the heart of A SmokeLong Summer is our peer-review workshop in small groups of around 15 writers, drafting to 3 writing tasks each week. Our peer-review workshop is all in writing, so you can participate from anywhere, anytime. This summer our writing tasks will be generative and thematically leaning towards community. Our theme this year: “The Global Flash Village”. Writing doesn’t have a be a game of Solitaire; it can be a team sport.

Our participants often say their writing has dramatically increased in community. A SmokeLong Summer 26 will take you around the world, introducing you to writers from every corner of our beautiful planet.
