Chase Burke is from Northeast Florida, where he lives. He has an MFA from the University of Alabama, where he was the Fiction Editor of the Black Warrior Review. His own work appears in Glimmer Train, Salt Hill, Sycamore Review, Yemassee, and Electric Literature, among other journals, and is forthcoming in DIAGRAM and Western Humanities Review. Elsewhere, his fiction was noted as a Special Mention in the 2018 Pushcart Prize Anthology, won Glimmer Train‘s Very Short Fiction Award, and was the runner-up for Sycamore Review‘s Wabash Prize for Fiction, judged by Kelly Link.
In September 2022 SmokeLong launched a workshop environment/community christened SmokeLong Fitness. This acclaimed community workshop is happening right now on our dedicated workshop site. If you choose to join us, you will work in a small group of around 15-20 participants to give and receive feedback on flash narratives.
