Instead of the Glass

I shatter her foot, and in the honeymoon pictures she lies in bed, smiling for the camera, her foot raised and ice-wrapped. The wedding picture shows only the tiniest of winces. At one point, it will all come out. It is almost fun, waiting for it.

About the Author

Randall Brown is on the faculty of Rosemont College’s MFA in Creative Writing Program. He has been published widely, both online and in print. He earned his MFA at Vermont College.

About the Artist

Ashley Inguanta is a writer, art photographer, installation artist, and holistic educator. Her work has most recently appeared in Atticus Review, Santa Fe Literary Review, and the anthology The Familiar Wild: On Dogs & Poetry. Her newest chapbook of poems, The Island, The Mountain, & The Nightblooming Field honors a human connection with the natural world.
